Hands Up Who Won The 50/50?

Yes this weeks 50/50 has been won by no fewer than 19 people, all those waiting for Chelsea to win yesterday will be happy :)

All winners will be notified in due course.

POST MATCH ANALYSIS: Aston Villa v Mossend FC

Yellow Team started off slow in the 1st game, not having training the night before showed, but by the 2nd game we were firing on all cylinders and some excellent work by the Yellow’s captain of the day. Also a big thanks to the substitue goalkeeper in the 2nd game, a volunteer stand-in at the last minute.
The whole Yellow Team played very well in the 2nd game, think we need to work hard and show that level of performance from the start next week against EK Thistle.

Black Team come out with all guns blazing and quickly took the lead in their 1st game and the same happened in the 2nd game aswell, but they must have taken their foot off the pedal as Aston Villa came racing back. The Mossend boys showed their resolve though and a fabulous game ended in a draw. Remember boys you never stop playing until the final whistle. Well done Black Team and keep the good work up.

First game back after what seems a very long winter break and the Mossend FC 2001’s started very well. Next weeks we play EK Thistle, so lets stick in at Training this Friday and we should see the results in the Saturday game.

Failure to return the form will result in players being ineligible to play in any official league games.

Friendly Game has been organised for Saturday 16th January against the Mossend FC 2000 team, will be a morning kick-off, but exact time will be confirmed.

No further comments or suggestions received.

Outcome:

Majority decision of £25 per ticket, Xavier Centre, Carfin, Pat Rolink MC (comedy, Irish bingo, raffle and auction.) After dinner speech, Q&A with special guests Frank MacAvennie and Craig Brown. Pat has confirmed, no deposit required at this stage and in the event of one of the guests not being available an alternative footy personality will be provided.

Our MC and speakers are from Albion Rovers, Celtic and an SFA backgound. This still leaves space for 2 special guests at the top table to invite and if anyone has a contact or suggestion please let me know. It would be ideal if a Motherwell, Rangers or other sports personality could be an invited guest.

It has been encouraging that this will be our first event since the parents meeting and hopefully some of the other ideas suggested, for example the Fir Park club, can be pursued at our next parents meeting and added to the events diary.

I know that there has been a lively debate about this being a “sportsmans” dinner. We are a diverse football club and everyone is welcome irrespective of gender, race or religion. However, I must stress that the MC and special guests material may offend some.

Ticket Sales:

I will dish out the first batch of tickets on Friday to those who indicated they could sell a table along with a control sheet and a selling guide. In general, I think we were all in agreement that the idea is maximise the amount that we can make for the club by targeting ticket sales at sponsors and people likely to spend a bit on the night, not our best pals who will spend a fiver all night and not bid for charity auction items!

Ticket selling suggestions:

Personally, I am disappointed at the £25 ticket price as this has wiped £750 off of what we would have made for the boys based on 10 tickets per table. However, I suppose this gives everyone an extra fiver in their pocket for the raffle.

1. £25 per single ticket. No discount for full table sale.
2. Corporate or business donation of auction/raffle prize will get you a sponsor named table (15 tables),1/4 page advert in Easter tournament program and 1 year advert on club website. It had been suggested that each table is named after the boys, e.g. “The Cameron and Connor table sponsored by Redline Taxis etc”

If anyone has any creative ideas please let us know, these were ideas banded about amongst a couple of us at training.

Prizes/auction items:

Please begin the search and once an item is confirmed please email me or Gerry so that we can list what will be available, which in turn may encourage further ticket sales.

Decoration of hall:

Yellow and black balloons and napkins, menu cards, table cloth for the top table should not be too expensive. I was £3.60 for yellow card for the tickets.

Can I suggest that we have the next parents meeting last training day in January where we can elect the events team.

Parents Night

Could all parents please attend Training on Friday 20th November for the Mossend Coaches to discuss a few things with you all on the way forward with the team.

Also that night we’d like to roll out the Code of Conduct for parents/players/coaches to read and return signed.

Website was Hacked

You may have noticed the website was being redirected to some russian website recently.

I’ve tried my best to fix the problem, but having to totally remove and start again with additional security measures put in place.

It should take me a few nights to get the site back to what it was. Bare with me and I’ll get there.

I haven’t lost any pictures and nothing was removed from the site.
